Visual Management & 6S Workplace Organisation at AET

May 21, 2024

As part of AET’s ongoing training and development strategy, the company has recently delivered a “Visual Management and 6S Workshop” to around 150 members of staff, from all departments across the business.   The programme was delivered to inform all staff – newer recruits as well as long standing members of the team – of the purpose of visual management in the workplace and how to successfully apply 6S to improve workplace organisation, safety, quality, and housekeeping, and increase employee morale and productivity.

Operations Director, Andy Richards commented “We introduced the 5S workplace organisation process into AET nearly 15 years ago, with the help of a lean consultant. As we have continued to grow, we have successfully promoted the benefits of the new 6S format and maintained the disciplined culture”.

Andy added, “The working environment is a very important factor for the safety, satisfaction, and morale of employees and, consequently, for the increase of the company’s productivity. To continue the successes of these initiatives, the philosophy of continuous improvement already embedded in the company must be maintained”.

The workshop was also successfully delivered to some of AET’s suppliers as part of a supply chain improvement initiative.
