AET Apprenticeships

Supporting a new generation of Sheffield Engineering

Apprenticeships

AET recognise the importance of experiential learning or learning by doing. Experiential learning focuses on the idea that the best way to gain knowledge is through on the job experience.

As we continue to grow, it is essential that we recruit, train, and develop the next generation of engineers to maintain business success. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, honest, and reliable with great problem solving and communication skills.
You’ll also need a positive approach to training, as well as being determined to work hard to develop your skills throughout your apprenticeship.

We have developed strong partnerships with a number of local further education providers, including AMRC, Chesterfield College and Sheffield College.

For further information, or to register your interest in joining our apprenticeship program, please contact us at careers@aetuk.com

My apprenticeship allowed me to work and learn simultaneously. It presents tasks and challenges you could never find in a classroom, building up the skills and experience necessary for me to flourish in my chosen area of engineering (CNC Machining) , with the help and support of the AET Management team and that of my fellow colleagues It is one of my proudest accomplishments to date. Matt, CNC Machinist

AET’s apprenticeship programme has been highly successful over the years and has given aspiring young engineers a fantastic foundation on which to build their career in engineering. They offer excellent support with a tailored internal training programme coupled with an approved national apprenticeship currently delivered by Chesterfield College. Steve Watkinson, Team Leader, Mechanical Engineering, Chesterfield College

My apprenticeship was structured with four days at AET and one day at college. This allowed me to get stuck into the job I was training for. I didn’t have a lot of confidence at first, and worried whether I was able to carry out the tasks I was given, but my mentor, a really skilled and experienced fabricator was always there for me.
